Position: Senior Project/Program Managers

Summary of Opportunity
 
Cohesion has an immediate need for a few Senior Project/Program Managers 
for a six-month contract duration and anticipated extension for longer term. This individual will manage and lead enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives which may be large-scale, high impact projects with moderate to high risk and complexity. Additionally, this professional will leverage their well-honed project management skills to direct the daily activities of team members on multiple projects to ensure they provide high quality and cost-effective services.  As a skilled Project/Program Manager this person will plan, execute, and deliver assigned projects on time, in budget, and within scope in accordance with business priorities. Tracking project status and managing project teams to mitigate issues and risks will also be a key part of the position scope. Salesforce implementation experience and/or other Commercial tools implementation experience would be a bonus.
 
Skills and Experience Required: 
 
Experience:

  1. Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects
  2. Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools
  3. Experienced in working with stakeholder to manage their expectations and engaging them to address project issues
  4. Two to four years of supervisory experience (preferred)

Skills:
  1. Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  2. Experience working in an OCM (Organizational Change Management) environment would be very helpful.
  3. Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills, including the ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace, and execute with limited information and ambiguity
  4. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision
  6. Strong influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to navigate in a highly matrixed organization effectively
  7. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations, and proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders
  8. Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability
  9. Ability to quickly build rapport and strong relationships with others
  10. Ability to establish a wide and effective peer network across the organization
  11. Sound business and technical acumen

Education Requirement:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree
  2. 5-10 years of project management experience in managing projects and/or small programs in a large operating environment
  3. PMP/PMI Certification or Prince2, and or Agile certified professional PMs or Six Sigma is a plus but not necessary
 
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Direct large-scale, complex projects that may involve multiple internal and external stakeholders
  2. Develop the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts
  3. Evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value
  4. Validate financial forecasts and provide on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures
  5. Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria
  6. Build, lead, and coach multiple project teams throughout project lifecycles
  7. Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects
  8. Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered
  9. Ensure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company
  10. Continually update relevant business stakeholders of project status and periodically publish project status reports
  11. Serve as a subject matter expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives
  12. Represent the project in various project governance and inter-department forums
  13. Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall and integrated delivery plan
  14. Ensure all projects meet success parameters and ROI targets stated in the business case
  15. Ensure end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit
  16. Assist, share learning, and mentor others within the PMO regarding standards, organizational understanding, and relationship building to promote the successful delivery of projects
